Dan Sultan has taken to social media to issue an apology for his “inexcusable and disrespectful” behaviour at a show in Cairns on Saturday night, with the remainder of his current tour dates being postponed.

On Saturday night, Dan Sultan appeared at the Tanks Art Centre in Cairns to perform as part of his lengthy Killer tour. However following Sultan’s set, many fans took Facebook to admonish the muso for his behaviour during the concert, which appeared to be as a result of intoxication according to those in attendance.

Yesterday afternoon, Dan Sultan took to Facebook to formally apologise for his actions during the gig. “I want to apologise to all of my fans, particularly those who were at the Cairns show on Saturday night,” Sultan began.

“My behaviour was inexcusable and disrespectful. I’d also like to extend an apology to the staff at Tanks Arts Centre for what occurred. I am taking stock of my personal situation and am seeking professional help,” he concluded, before advising fans that they are able to seek refunds if they so wished.

Now, following a massive outpouring of support from fans, Dan Sultan’s management has issued a statement in regards to the upcoming dates of the current tour. “In light of current circumstances we have decided to postpone the remainder of Dan’s Killer Solo Tour,” wrote Dan’s management on Facebook.

“We apologise to Dan’s fans for any inconvenience this may cause. Dan’s health and wellbeing is our highest priority at this time and we thank you for your ongoing understanding and support.”

“We hope to reschedule the postponed dates once Dan makes a full recovery,” they continued. “While we encourage fans to hold onto their tickets which will be valid for entry to the rescheduled shows, the option to secure a refund is also available via the ticketing outlet or venue from which tickets were purchased.”

The 22 remaining dates of Dan Sultan’s Killer tour have currently been postponed, with shows in Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia, and Western Australia affected by this news.

While there’s no news yet as to when Dan Sultan will announce new dates, we wish him all the best while he takes some time off to regroup and look after himself.
