Dave Grohl has once again certified himself as one of the nicest guys in rock, inviting a young blind fan onstage during a recent Foo Fighters show.

No matter how you look at it, this year has been pretty wild for the Foo Fighters. Following an Aussie tour at the start of the year, we’ve seen Dave Grohl invite countless fans onstage, and even reunite Nirvana not once, but twice.

Following a show recently where the band rocked out to a Metallica jam with a ten-year-old fan, Dave Grohl has again showed off his kind side, inviting a young blind fan onstage during a gig.

As Christy Taylor of Minneapolis radio station Go 96.3 reports (via Consequence Of Sound), while performing in St. Paul, Minnesota on Thursday night, Dave Grohl noticed a young fan in the audience, before inviting him and his family onstage.

“You gotta take his parents too now, hold on,” Grohl said to the stagehands attending to the audience members. “This is a family occasion! Bring them up on the side! I’ll sing a song to them!”

Following a performance of ‘La Dee Da’, Dave Grohl even brought his guitar over to the young fan for him to touch, ensuring that he got a truly immersive experience during the gig.

Initial reports of the event had people assuming that the child in question was ‘sleepy’, but as Christy Taylor reported, the young fan in question carried a red and white cane, indicating that he was in fact blind. Later, the fan’s mother took to the Consequence Of Sound Facebook page to set the record straight, and sing the praises of Dave Grohl.

“I am Owen’s mom,” wrote Stacy Anderson on Facebook. “Owen is in fact blind, he also has Autism, Crohn’s Disease and developmental disabilities. Owen loves concerts so much. He was definitely not tired, he likes to be held up front at most shows and we take turns holding him up so he can dance.”

“Dave Grohl and all of the crew were incredibly kind to our family.”
