Destiny’s Child singer Michelle William has claimed that the iconic girl group would be “a mess” if they had been at the height of their success in today’s social media-driven world.
Speaking on the Role Model podcast with Leomie Anderson, Michelle admitted she was glad that she and bandmates Beyonce and Kelly Rowland found success in the age before social media was popular.
“Oh my gosh, it would have been a mess,” said Michelle.
“Everybody has an opinion of what you should be doing, how you should be doing it.”
She added: “We had Beyonce’s mum and dad. We had a family, so it was run like a family. Even my family felt good that I was on the road. We were protected from grimy people.”
It comes following another interview with Us Weekly on Tuesday, where she spoke about her least favourite parts of being the famous troupe.
“I was new to the industry,” the 41-year-old singer said.

She also revealed that she still has a close relationship with fellow Destiny’s Child members Beyonce and Kelly Rowland.
“My relationship with them is never in question,” she said.
“Because we give each other that access to tender moments like that, birthday parties, baby showers or just, ‘Hey, come to the house for dinner’. To me. That means more than getting on stage.
“You know, it’s that important to you to maintain friendships because a lot of people, they will say, Well, if my friend doesn’t talk to me every week, that means they’re not friends or, or is it more than moments for you that makes, these are my real friends, these are my sisters…”
