DJ Khaled has apparently hit up his record label’s office (screaming more than just his own name for a change), after his latest album didn’t debut at #1.

Last month, DJ Khaled released his 11th studio album, Father Of Asahd. Featuring a number of high-charting singles, and the chart-topping success of his last two records, it seems that expectations were high for the 43-year old.

However, as Page Six reported, the musician took umbrage with his #2 placing, hitting up his record label’s office to complain about his silver medal on the charts.

“He stormed into Epic with an entourage,” explained one unnamed source, noting that once he was presented with projections for his latest record, “he was angry and yelling. He threw a temper tantrum.”

“No. 2 won’t do for Khaled,” added another source. “He was not happy when the album didn’t debut at No. 1… Not happy at all.”

While DJ Khaled’s Father Of Asahd hit #2, it was Tyler, The Creator’s IGOR that pipped him to the post, reportedly due to a number of streaming bundle deals whose numbers weren’t included in the final chart count.

“Khaled was upset that his label wasn’t fighting for him and fighting for those numbers to count, which could have propelled him to No. 1. They don’t get it,” a source added.

“He was furious. There was some nasty stuff said,” an additional insider echoed. “Publicly, he’s all about ‘positivity,’ but there is a mean side to him that people don’t see . . . He overhyped the record and blew it up as his biggest album ever.”

Taking to Instagram later, DJ Khaled made a sly dig at his #2 placing, noting that he was celebrating “the album that was the MOST streamed and digital sales for the DEBUT #FATHEROFASAHD TO THE WORLD.”

As Stereogum notes though, DJ Khaled also shared a since-deleted post in which he made a thinly-veiled attack on Tyler, The Creator’s chart-topping effort.

“I make albums so people can play it and you actually hear it,” Khaled explained. “You know, driving your car, you hear another car playing it.

“You know, go to the barbershop, you hear them playing it. You know, turn the radio on, and you hear them playing it. It’s called great music.

“It’s called albums that you actually hear the songs,” he concluded. “Not no mysterious shit that you never hear it.”

In true form, Tyler, The Creator has since made snarky responses to DJ Khaled’s rant, asking questions like “Who tf listens to tyler the creator?” and even liking Khaled’s video on social media.

We’re just hoping no one tells DJ Khaled he only reached #7 in Australia. Just imagine the blue language that would be flying in that case!
