Hugely-successful pop musician Ed Sheeran has revealed a rather unlikely musical preference, letting slip that he’s apparently a huge fan of both Korn and Marilyn Manson.

We’ve all been rather surprised in the past when it comes to the musical preferences of other celebrities. Why, we recently discovered that actress Milla Jovovich is a huge fan of Byron Bay natives Parcels, and we were undoubtedly a bit taken aback when Dave Grohl revealed his fondness for Lil Pump’s ‘Gucci Gang’.

However, if there’s one musical taste that we never saw coming, it’s Ed Sheeran’s love of both Korn and Marilyn Manson.

If you’ve been paying attention to Korn’s activities lately, you might be aware that the group are currently over in Nashville in the US state of Tennessee, where they’re recording their new album. As it turns out, Korn ended up heading along to Marilyn Manson’s show in Nashville on Tuesday night, where they bumped into Ed Sheeran backstage.

Taking a photo with the singer, Korn guitarist Brian ‘Head’ Welch revealed that Sheeran even let slip how he has a fondness for a certain track of theirs.

“Of course Ed Sheeran would walk right past me and Munky at [the] Marilyn Manson concert and tell us he just listened to ‘Freak On A Leash’ earlier today,” Head wrote. “Why should we be surprised?”

Country musician Joel Crouse also took to social media that evening, sharing a quick clip of him and Ed Sheeran in the crowd, happily watching Marilyn Manson. The pair also decided to join in singing along to Manson’s cover of Eurythmics’ ‘Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of This)’.

Of course, this isn’t the first time we’ve spoken about Korn and Marilyn Manson this year. In fact, Manson opened up about Korn back in May, recollecting how he used to urinate in the band’s catering.

When Manson ran into the band at their Follow The Leader 20th anniversary show in Los Angeles, Munky took to Instagram to share a photo with Manson, joking about the past as well. “Great to see Marilyn Manson NOT throwing a microphone at me, or pissing in my food, last night, anyway…”

While we never expected Ed Sheeran to showcase his love of Korn, the only question that remains now is when are we getting that high-profile collaboration?
