Eminem is the latest celeb to jump on the NFT bandwagon with the announcement of Shady Con, a collection of digital action figures and instrumentals produced by Eminem his team.

The exciting news was announced on Thursday and the NFT’s will be released via Nifty Gateway between 6:30 and 7 p.m. Sunday (American time).

Eminem has stayed vague about what exactly he will be offering as an NFT, but has shared that he’s had fun putting the collection together.

“I’ve been collecting since I was a kid, everything from comic books to baseball cards to toys, as well as every rap album on cassette I could get my hands on,” Eminem said in a release.

“Not much has changed for me as an adult… I wanted to give this drop the same vibe of, ‘Oh, man I gotta get just that one or maybe even the whole set!’  It’s been a lot of fun coming up with ideas from my own collecting passion.”

Eminem’s website has revealed that “the collection features original instrumental beats produced by Slim Shady himself specifically for this release. The tracks will be made available only as part of the limited-edition and one-of-a-kind NFTs”.

A photo of some of the figurines which make up part of the NFT collection was included on the website, which you can see below.

Eminem's NFT is called Shady Con

It seems as though Eminem’s NFT drop may have been inspired by a hilarious Saturday Night Live parody that saw Pete Davidson acting as Eminem rapping about NFT’s along to Em’s hit song, ‘The Real Slim Shady’.

Marshall Mathers retweeted a video of the skit, along with a thinking emoji, on April 20th. He then announced the NFT drop on April 21st.

Fans have reacted with a combination of excitement and confusion to the news.

“What is he dropping and what the hell is an NFT I keep reading about it but don’t understand,” replied one fan to the tweet.

“Dropping what exactly??” Replied another confused fan.
