On Friday, May 14th, Evanescence will celebrate their latest record, The Bitter Truth, with a free livestream performance ‘Driven to Perform.’
The Bitter Truth, released back on March 26th, is the first new record by the band in a decade. To commemorate the momentous release, the band has enlisted the help of Alice Cooper to pull off a livestream celebration of the ages.
The performance will feature an opening performance from one of three burgeoning rock acts. The three acts, Suspect208, South of Eden and Ashland were all tasked with recording a cover of Alice Cooper classic ‘Under My Wheels.’ The winner will be determined by a fan vote, you can cast yours here.
We’ve partnered with @CooperTire for the Driven To Perform Concert on May 13 at 8 pm CT hosted by @alicecooper. Vote your favorite band & register for the show to be one of the first to hear us perform songs from our new album, “The Bitter Truth.” https://t.co/infsfCFcLw pic.twitter.com/mfFaXKdmvH

The first instalment is based on the band’s recent singles ‘Better Without You’ and ‘Wasted On You’, taken off The Bitter Truth.
Penned by Carrie Lee South and Blake Northcott with illustrations by Abigail Larson and Kelly McKernan. The novel will be sold as a comic book, limited to 3,000 copies per edition. The first issue is available to pre-order now and will be shipped out in June.
“I am so excited about this project series,” Evanescence singer Amy Lee said. “The possibilities are endless. Collaborating across art forms like this is so unique, and it’s been fascinating to see how many different lives a song can have, like alternate realities. I look forward to working on this throughout the year and am so honored to break open this new world for our music.”
