Fender Guitars are set to release a Kurt Cobain Jaguar signature model in yet another cash in to mark the 20th Anniversary of Nirvana’s Nevermind. The model is to be based on Cobain’s 1965 Fender Jaguar, which was used extensively throughout the Nevermind touring period.
Kurt’s bought the guitar off a bloke who had made substantial modifications to it, which Fender has now incorporated in to the tribute edition. These modifications include DiMarzio PAF and DiMarzio Super Distortion humbuckers in the neck and bridge positions for all you gear nerds out there, in addition to a second volume control, a black chrome Gotoh bridge and a black three-position toggle switch.
The guitar also features a Stratocaster sized headstock, which carries the Fender ‘spaghetti’ logo which dates back to Fender guitars produced in the 1950. In perhaps an over the top move, the lacquer on the guitar has been aged to reflect the tour weary state of the finish on Kurt’s actual guitar. (It’s kinda like paying top notch prices for clothes that already have holes in them).
The Kurt Cobain tribute Jaguar will come in both left and right handed models and will set you back about $2,000.
