Brisbane’s South Bank is set to become one massive outdoor dancefloor this summer, with Southwave returning in 2027 for eight free, all-ages events featuring some of the biggest names in electronic music.

Flight Facilities, The Jungle Giants, Young Franco, Chaos in the CBD, RONA., Crazy P, ROSSI. and Aroop Roy are among the artists announced for the series, which will take over Rainforest Green between January 8th and February 14th.

Following a successful debut that drew more than 20,000 people in early 2026, Southwave is bringing another stacked lineup of Australian and international talent to the heart of Brisbane. Expect everything from house and disco to UK garage and techno, with established acts sharing the stage with some of the city’s best local DJs and emerging acts.

ARIA Award-winning duo Flight Facilities will perform an extended DJ set on February 6th, while Brisbane darlings The Jungle Giants will return for a hometown performance on January 23rd, showcasing material from their 2026 release, Experiencing Feelings of Joy.

Young Franco will headline February 5th, with New Zealand’s Chaos in the CBD and First Nations electronic artist RONA. appearing on January 9th. The series will close with a Valentine’s Day event headlined by Crazy P on February 14th.

“Brisbane is made for outdoor music experiences, particularly in summer,” said The Tivoli Group Curator and Creative Director Dave Sleswick. “Southwave is about making the most of that — good music, great people and a setting that feels completely different from your usual dance floor.”

The program also places an emphasis on Brisbane’s local electronic music community, with emerging artists and established selectors sharing the bill with international performers.

Partnerships with Finely Tuned, QUIVR and Family Tree will see the organisations co-present selected events, including a dedicated Family Tree takeover on February 7th featuring Varnan, Orosa, Nat4sha, Zed Mero, DJ 808 and JVME.

Southwave is curated by The Tivoli Group, which operates The Tivoli and The Princess Theatre and delivers the Open Season music program. The organisation also contributes music programming to Brisbane Festival, MELT and Valley Fiesta.

South Bank Corporation CEO Julia Scoldellaro said the partnership demonstrates how public spaces can support cultural engagement and accessibility.

“Southwave showcases what’s possible when public space is used in new and engaging ways, creating opportunities for people to connect with culture and community,” she said. “Through our partnership with The Tivoli Group, we’re proud to make world-class live music accessible to audiences.”

All eight events are free and open to all ages, although capacity restrictions will apply. Attendees are encouraged to register in advance to receive event updates and set times, with admission operating on a one-out, one-in basis if capacity is reached.

Further artists are expected to be announced.
