The year 2015 has gotten off to a shaky start for Aussie live music, with both Sydney and Perth losing staple performance spaces, however today we’ve got some positive news and it’s pretty epic, Melbourne is about get a massive music hub.
Brunswick rehearsal space The Wick is set to reopen its doors once more as Wick Studios in March and will feature soundproofed rooms, multiple recording spaces and live performance spaces in the northern suburb’s warehouse-like complex, as the guys at Beat report.
Having undergone major renovations, the new home for musos boasts of 15 fully refurbished and soundproofed rehearsal rooms decked out in the latest technologies, there will also be two fully-fledged recording studios, a photograph and video studio and most importantly two live music spaces, one catering for 400 punters, the other a more intimate setting of 200 and of course, a beer garden.

This is massive news for the music community of both Melbourne and its surrounds, once The Wick is in full swing it will be one of the city’s largest musical hubs. Promising affordable prices for both equipment and space hire, this is a major home-run for creatives looking for both rehearsal and performing spaces, we can’t wait to see what incredible music this place churns out.
