The sister event to the ever popular Meredith Music Festival is back and Golden Plains 2013 promises to be bigger and better than ever.
Aunty Meredith has been dreaming deeply these past few months, when out popped a new strange fruit: Golden Plains Lucky 7. Her sweet nectar will ooze out all over an Epic Long Weekend in the Most Glorious of Outdoors at The Orchard of Good Times that is the Meredith Supernatural Amphitheatre on March 9 – 11, 2013.
And if that wasn’t enough to get your senses tingling in anticipation, none other than Cat Power herself will be there. The voice, the songs, the myth, the legend that is Chan Marshall that is Cat Power will play with her all-new band around Sunset on Saturday.
The great bulk of the rest of the lineup will be out later in October. It’s all hand-selected, curated and guaranteed GoldenTop Quality, which isn’t surprising coming from a festival that earlier this year had the likes of Bon Iver headlining.
Aunty Meredith is also extremely proud to announce that they’ve been able to keep Lucky 7 the same price as last year whilst ensuring Golden Plains is the same perfectly-formed shape and size as her forebears, yet bursting with even more nutritional goodness.
The critically acclaimed festival will still be BYO, with no commercial sponsors, the No D!ckhe@ds rule, and the one stage policy so you miss nothing and experience everything.
And what better way to spend the long weekend than in one of the best places on Earth with friends and lovers. The Meredith Supernatural Amphitheatre has been natured and nurtured on twenty-two years of knuckled-down know-how, for the singular purpose of hosting Something Uniquely Remarkable.
For Golden Plains it’s set to Premium Mode, bathed in glorious autumnal light, with even more Spacious Space for camping and glamping and everythinging. There’s many new Hand-selected choice quality curated caterers too. The Sun is like honey on the trees and afternoon goes on all day, the Summer Fool is spent and a giant spike of excitement goes KABLOOEY two-nightly.
As usual, The Subscriber Ticket Ballot is held to make things as fair as they can be, and ensure that most tickets go to Subscribers, before going on public sale. There are two rounds of Ballot results – one for existing Subs and one for newer ones (very welcome). Ballot-winners are emailed a Golden Code to access the Online Ticket Box Office.
