‘Hard To Say’ is the latest single out of Australian songstress GRAACE. Her first release of 2020, the song is a touching tribute to somebody very close to her heart, who sadly took his own life. The track premiered last night on triple j’s Good Nights with Bridget Hustwaite.

The melancholic ‘Hard To Say’ hears GRAACE at her most delicate, wearing her heart on her sleeve and distilling those emotions into her songwriting. Her hushed vocals & pensive lyrics are accompanied by African Australian rapper I.E.; a frontrunner of Australia’s hip-hop resurgence in recent years.

After spending the best part of 2019 touring both locally and internationally – with shows in both Europe and America – and selling out big gigs like By The Bay Festival, Out Of Bounds Festival, NYE In The Park, as well as shows in both Sydney and Melbourne.

“‘Hard To Say’ is a track that I wrote in the studio with one of my best friends,” GRAACE says of the tune. “I lost someone very close to my heart over a year ago, and it’s something that I don’t talk about often but I felt like it was finally time to sing about him and bring light to the topic of mental health.

“It’s a beautiful thing to be able to sing your thoughts when you can’t fully articulate it in a normal conversation, because it can be so hard to grasp your feelings when you’re grieving. I hope people who listen can know that they’re not alone and can see that everybody has somebody who has their back, whether it’s someone they’re close to or a stranger, like me.”

‘Hard To Say’ is the latest release in GRAACE’s already-exceptional career, with her SELF SABOTAGE EP receiving 25 million streams globally, including the Gold single ‘Last Night’, which itself boasts over 19 million streams.
