Ancient Burials, who have a guitarist under the age of 21, was made to perform without their underaged member at a show the other night. However, the young rock legend decided to turn the tables, performing just outside the window where the band was, totally rocking out alongside them.

With all the obvious hurdles ones must get over to make it in a metal band today, it seems that American metal band Ancient Burials were faced with yet another. The tech-deathcore band from Portland, Oregon had to think quick on their feet, when their guitarist was told he was too young to enter the venue.

The band was set to play a show with another Portland band, Paradigm Shift, at the Hawthorne Theatre in Portland. Apparently one of Ancient Burials’ guitarists didn’t meet the minimum age of 21 to get into the venue, and so quick thinking was necessary.

“So our homeboy in Ancient Burials was a bit too young to play inside, so we hooked him up with some wireless gear,” Paradigm Shift posted on their Facebook with a video of the guitarists shredding on a street corner. “I think it has to do with Oregon’s state laws,” Paradigm bassist Galen VanEeckhoutte said in a comment. “In my younger years in Michigan playing gigs they always just marked my hands with an X.”

He might not be able to play in a 21+ venue, but you know, he can go to war and buy guns. Love America.

The show appeared to go on as usual, with the Ancient Burials guys headbanging, hair-whipping and playing in sync with each other, and a small audience of people watching and filming. It’s a miracle of metal music that the masses will tell their kids about for years to come.
