Guns N’ Roses have taken aim at President Donald Trump with a new politically-charged, musically themed piece of merchandise.

Trump recently visited Arizona to check out a manufacturing plant that makes coronavirus-safe N95 masks, while not wearing a mask himself, and ‘Live And Let Die’ blared in the background.

The factory even displayed a sign that said masks were required to be worn, so in retaliation, Guns N’ Roses have released a t-shirt emblazoned with the slogan: ‘Live N’ Let Die With COVID 45’. For the record, Trump is the 45th President of the United States.

The production and sale of the shirt is more than just a political jab, with all proceeds from its sale going to the Recording Academy’s music charity ‘MusiCares’, which notably ran out of funds earlier this month.

‘Live N’ Let Die’ has been a famous part of Guns N’ Roses live sets since it appeared as a cover on their 1991 album Use Your Illusion. However, the tune was originally written by Sir Paul McCartney for the 1973 eponymous James Bond film.

The release of the shirt follows Axl Rose’s recent jab at the President’s Treasury Secretary for encouraging people to travel around the country amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

It’s the second piece of new non-music related Gunners merchandise to be announced this month, after the band revealed they are working on a children’s book called ‘Sweet Child O’ Mine’.

We’re hoping to get new music from the band pretty soon too. In an interview, bassist Duff McKagan’s wife Susan Holmes McKagan broke the news of an album that’s currently in the works.

“I will say Guns N’ Roses have been working fastidiously on killer new stuff,” she revealed. “I can’t say much, but I’ve heard bits and bobs and it’s pretty epic. I do wanna spread the good news, but not detailed news, I guess.”
