Get ready to listen to some new Guns N’ Roses material, as they’re coming up hard and fast to make a follow up to their prized 2008 album Chinese Democracy.

Man, it’s been a good week in the music world. Metallica have said that they might be working up new tunes, Slipknot is spinning ideas, and now revered rockers Guns N’ Roses have stated that they’re “working fastidiously on killer stuff” for their highly-anticipated new album.

We can’t deny that it’s been a while since we’ve had new GN’R tunes grace our ears. Seeing 12 pass since their last album has been hard for fans, but it seems like the waiting period is soon to be over, as the legendary hard rock band is working on some new tunes.

In a recent interview with podcast Appetite For Distortion, bassist Duff McKagan’s wife Susan Holmes McKagan broke the news of the new album while chatting with interviewer Brando.

“I will say Guns N’ Roses have been working fastidiously on killer new stuff,” she revealed. “I can’t say much, but I’ve heard bits and bobs and it’s pretty epic. I do wanna spread the good news, but not detailed news, I guess.”

This news helps to confirm speculation that appeared three months ago when guitarist Slash told Guitar.com that “stuff” was in the works, but wouldn’t go into further detail.

Additionally, Slash also told SiriusXM that the his focus was writing new material for the collective, and went into a bit more detail about what we could expect, saying that “at the end of the day, everybody wants to have a full album released.”

“I don’t think that’s really changed all that much. But there’s a different way of putting stuff out initially nowadays more so than… I mean, there’s always been the single, but now you sort of look at that preliminary release a little bit differently now.”

“All things considered, it’s like the Wild West out there; there is no formula for any of it, [laughs]. I haven’t seen any routine kind of thing that works. I mean, you can do any one of a million different things to releasing a record. But at the end of the day, I think that we will ultimately release a full album.”

At this time there is no news as to when an album will come about, but fans remain hopeful as ever.
