Guns N’ Roses could be gearing up to soundtrack yet another Arnold Schwarzenegger film, with reports emerging that the band are contributing a new song to the latest Terminator movie.
If you’re familiar with Guns N’ Roses’ discography, then you’d be aware they’re no strangers to allowing their music to be used on a film soundtrack or two.
In fact, while their cover of ‘Sympathy For The Devil’ showed up on the Interview With The Vampire soundtrack, ‘Oh My God’ ended a five-year drought of new music when it appeared on Arnold Schwarzenegger’s End Of Days.
However, their most famed use of music in film came back in 1991, when ‘You Could Be Mine’ was used as the theme to Terminator 2: Judgment Day, before appearing on Use Your Illusion later that same year.
Now, it looks as though Axl Rose and co. could be gearing up to have their tunes on the big screen once again, with reports that they’ve contributed music to the next film in the Terminator series.
Sharing a picture of Arnold Schwarzenegger wearing a Guns N’ Roses t-shirt, the GUNS OVER OZ Aussie facebook group brought attention to reports that the band had viewed Terminator: Dark Fate in accordance with talks of submitting fresh tunes to its soundtrack.
“A source who was working On Terminator dark fate has informed that 4 members of guns n roses went to a private viewing of a rough copy of the upcoming Arnold Schwarzenegger sequel movie to see if they want to put a song on the soundtrack,” the post explains.
“Apparently, Slash was at axls house to record overdubs on a song for the rush release. At this point the song name is unknown. But yes 100% verified. Guns n roses new music.”
As some people have said over on the GNR Evolution forum, it would make sense for Guns N’ Roses to submit a song for the soundtrack, considering how much of a continuation of Terminator 2 the new film is.
With director James Cameron back in the saddle, the film serves as a direct sequel to the 1991 movie, and features Linda Hamilton, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Edward Furlong together for the first time in 28 years.
Similarly, the notion of new music isn’t terribly farfetched either, with Slash revealing earlier this year that Guns N’ Roses would be working on a new album later in 2019.
“When we finish the tour in the fall,” the guitarist explained, “then we will commence working on [what] will end up being the next Guns record.”
