The surprise late entry of Harvest Festival last year into an already crowded Australian festival market was greeted with scepticism at first, but after announcing a stellar lineup including Portishead and The Flaming Lips, Harvest cemented itself on the festival calendar.

It’s been a long time coming, and the speculation has been flying thick and fast, with strong contenders for the headline slot being everybody’s favourite ethereal Icelandic quartet, Sigur Ros following their confirmation they’d be down-under in November, as well as the likes of genre-hopper Beck, and even a long overdue appearance from My Bloody Valentine being thrown about.

Last week added some more solid confirmation to the line-up, earlier today, we caught wind of a Facebook status from Californian alt-rockers Cake that all but confirmed their appearance on the Harvest line-up, simply saying, “CAKE will return to Australia in November…”  Meanwhile, indie darlings Grizzly Bear dropped details of their fourth studio album last week, along with a new single called “Sleeping Ute” are a series of tour dates tracking all around the world; including a Harvest-sized gap in their touring schedule between a date in Holland on the 5th of November before hopping over to New Zealand, for the 20th and 21st of November in Wellington and Auckland respectively.

But the speculation is over, here is the official lineup for the second appearance of Harvest Festival is finally here, and the bill is everything that we’d hoped and just that little bit more.
