It’s always fascinating to learn the favourite songs of artists and Tyler, the Creator’s picks for the best Jay-Z songs might surprise you.
It started when Spotify’s Carl Chery asked his Twitter followers what their top five favourite Jay-Z songs were (“without overthinking it”), in celebration of the rapper’s birthday on December 4th.
Chery then posted a video of Tyler, the Creator sharing his top picks, “in no particular order.” ‘Fuck All Nite’, “Excuse Me Miss’, ‘Funk Flex Grammy Family Freestyle’, ‘Allure’, ‘Do It Again (Put Ya Hands Up)’, and ‘Show You How’ were his choices.
At the end of the video, Tyler explained why he added a six song choice, ‘Show You How’. “That last verse on ‘Show You How’ put a lot in perspective for me as a kid but that’s six so I’m done,” he said. He also said that ‘Do It Again (Put Ya Hands Up)’ was “crazy” and “insane.”
In case you were wondering, Chery’s number one Jay-Z song is ‘D’Evils’, followed by ‘Dead Presidents’, ‘Where I’m From’, ‘A Million and One Questions (Premiere Remix)’, and ‘U Don’t Know’.

Tyler, the Creator’s latest album, Call Me If You Get Lost, came out earlier this year. After being acclaimed by critics and debuting atop the U.S. Billboard 200, his sixth studio album was then nominated for Best Rap Album at the 2022 Grammy Awards.
Jay-Z, meanwhile, is one of the favourites to be nominated for Best Original Song at next year’s Oscars. He teamed up with Kid Cudi for the blazing ‘Guns Go Bang’, which is included in Netflix’s new Revisionist Western The Harder They Fall.
Does anyone else agree with Tyler, the Creator’s choices? What are your favourite Jay-Z songs?
