If you thought the lineup for Bluesfest’s 2019 event couldn’t get any bigger, get ready to have your mind blown, with a stunning array of artists joining the already-stacked bill.

Back in August, Bluesfest announced its first lineup for their 30th anniversary year. With some huge names on the bill, including Jack Johnson, Ben Harper & The Innocent, Snarky Puppy, and Kasey Chambers, fans were undoubtedly looking forward to April more than usual.

Fast-forward to October, and we saw a handful of sideshows being announced, along with the addition of stunning artists like Paul Kelly, Hozier, David Gray, and Julia Stone. Now the festival has expanded yet again, adding a litany of huge names to next year’s festival.

Kicking off Bluesfest’s third announcement is none other than Iggy Pop himself. The rocker’s first Aussie tour since his appearance with The Stooges at Bluesfest back in 2013, this godfather of punk is set to (metaphorically) tear the roof off the venue when he hits up Byron Bay next April.

Norah Jones also joins the lineup, making her Bluesfest debut next year, following the release of a handful of stunning singles this year. Jones’ Aussie tour will be taking place just a couple of months after the 17th anniversary of her debut record, Come Away With Me.

Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats, Imelda May, Melbourne Ska Orchestra, Pierce Brothers, and Archie Roach also join the bill, ensuring that Bluesfest’s 30th anniversary is one not to be missed.

Amazingly, the festival still isn’t done, with the likes of Backsliders, Fantastic Negrito, The Marcus King Band, Thando, Little Georgia, Benny Walker, and Dallas Woods rounding out this eclectic third lineup.

With more artists still to be announced for next year’s festivities, Bluesfest is clearly ensuring that their 30th anniversary event is one that audience members will be talking about for another 30 years or more.

The 2019 edition of Bluesfest kicks off on April 18th and runs until April 22nd. Tickets to next year’s event are on sale now, but with tickets selling faster than at any other Bluesfest in history, you might want to make sure you get in quick to ensure your place to witness a phenomenal lineup such as this.
