At only 19 years old, Lara Andallo has already managed to create one of the most addictive R&B songs we’ve heard in a while with the release of her major-label debut, ‘Confidential’.
Rising R&B star Lara Andallo is one of those unique talents in the world that make triple threats look weak. She can dance, she can act, and boy can she sing. At just 19 years old, this Filipino-Australian artist is an absolute force to be reckoned with, and undoubtedly one to watch as the years go by.
Lara’s youthful but sharp vocals glide smoothly over minimal production that sounds tailor-made to suit her voice in perfect form on new (and debut) track ‘Confidential’. The song is an absolute banger that would fit in comfortable on any R&B Fridays playlist, and considering how young Andallo is, it’s incredible how much confidence oozes from the track. The song sounds straight from the mouth of an R&B icon like SZA, Tinashe, H.E.R. or Kehlani, yet it was simply written in Andallo’s bedroom studio, produced by her friend EDY.

The effortlessly cool and collected ‘Confidential’ is a shout out to toxic friends, and is an anthem for feeling powerful, feeling confident, and not giving a fuck about the fake.
“Confidential started as a sad song about being an outsider. When I wrote it, I wasn’t dancing very much, I’d lost some friendships, and I was processing that,” she says.
“But over time, it changed from being a sad song to an empowering one. Now it’s about feeling different but not giving a fuck.” Lara hopes that when people hear Confidential, they will feel comfortable with themselves too.
