Great news, Iron Maiden fans — a new film taking inspiration from the legendary band is coming to a screen near you soon.
The Night of the Beast is from director Mauricio Leiva-Cock, the emerging talent behind Netflix’s Spanish-language series Green Frontier.
Variety reports that the film will be a road trip film about two teenagers on a quest to get into the first Iron Maiden gig in Colombia.
The concert was a big deal in the country, having been in the works for three decades before finally happening in 2008. According to Variety, “metalheads of all ages pawned their instruments and saved for months to get the tickets.”
In what sounds like an immense tale of metal fandom, the film will of course feature a soundtrack of Iron Maiden staples including ‘The Trooper’ and ‘Aces High’.
What’s more, it sounds like it will also be a great showcase for Colombian metal, with Vein, Agony, Masacre, Darkness and La Pestilencia all set to contribute tracks.
Described as “a sincere comedy about friendship that proposes new narratives diverging from stories the world has come to expect from Colombian cinema,” the film “explores the recent past of Colombia’s ‘90s and ‘00s through the eyes of young generations still learning to understand the reality that surrounds them,” according to Variety.

Meanwhile in Australia, Iron Maiden were due to bring their Legacy Of The Beast tour here and to New Zealand this year. Of course, given the current coronavirus pandemic, that tour has been cancelled.
“We still intend to bring this great Legacy Of The Beast show to you all as soon as we can and I promise we will do everything we can to achieve this with our promoters and subject to what is happening around us globally,” the group said in a statement.
