It’s been almost eleven years since Tool released their last album, 10,000 Days, and many Tool fans had all but given up on the band recording a fifth album.

But it would seem that work is further along than we suspected, with the band’s official website announcing that work on vocals had already begun on the album.

The webmaster wrote: “In speaking with Danny [Carey, drums] last night, he told me that the band has temporarily MOVED some of their gear into a larger space (across town) where MAYNARD is working on VOCALS for some of the new Tool material. I’m sure that he has already been doing this to some extent, but now he has more room to breathe and a better vocal booth.”

Just last month, Tool fans were treated to a slew of unreleased material when a fan released a super-cut contain some unheard music.

Considering Tool also announced last October they have two albums of new music recorded already, we may end up with a new Tool album before we know it.
