The music claims in the legal documents that the woman even came to see him at his Houston hotel on August 26th, with the encounter proving troubling for Johnson and his bandmates. All of them removed themselves from until police arrived on the scene and detained the woman.
Johnson was due to play a concert in the Houston area that night. According to him, his alleged stalker is prone to purchasing VIP packages to his performances in order to get as close as possible to him. The woman also allegedly emails both the musician and his management, claiming she’s been the victim of a long-term financial scheme.
As his tour dates are easily accessible online, Johnson feels that he’s not fully safe from the woman’s pursuit. He also claims that she’s been following him for several years now, with his legal representative’s sending her cease and desist warnings with no success.
That’s why a judge approved a temporary restraining order to cover Johnson, his wife, and their teenage son. This is a developing story with more to come.
Johnson’s Australian fans will be hoping the musician is still able to tour, with a string of Australian dates scheduled for November and December.
It will be Johnson’s first time performing in the country since headlining Bluesfest in 2019. The tour is in support his eighth studio album Meet the Moonlight, his first full-length record since 2017’s All The Light Above It Too.
