Jebediah are heading to the big screen this October, with their new feature documentary Jebediah: Are We OK? set for a national cinema release across Australia.
Distributed by Madman Entertainment, the film will also hit the road for a series of special Q&A screenings, with members of the beloved Perth band joining the documentary’s creative team at selected sessions around the country.
Fresh from its selection for the Melbourne International Film Festival’s 2026 Premiere Fund, Jebediah: Are We OK? looks beyond the songs and mythology surrounding the beloved Perth band to focus on the four people who have been making music together since their teenage years.
Kevin Mitchell, Chris Daymond, Vanessa Thornton and Brett Mitchell formed Jebediah in suburban Perth in 1994, making the leap from school bands to national success with their double-platinum debut album, Slightly Odway.
Over three decades later, the four are still performing and recording together while navigating the challenge of balancing the band with the lives they have built away from it.
The 89-minute documentary was crafted over 11 years by Victorian writer-director Arlo Dean Cook and produced by Western Australian producer Booke Tia Silcox (Rockabul, Meal Tickets) through No Thing Productions.
Drawing on 30 years of previously unseen personal archives and home videos alongside intimate present-day access, the film traces Jedediah’s history through a winder story about friendship, creativity and growing up without growing apart.

The theatrical release will be accompanied by a national Q&A tour beginning in Western Australia, where the full band will join Cook and Silcox for screenings are Luna Leederville in Perth on Friday, October 2nd, and Luna SX in Fremantle on Saturday, October 3rd.
Kevin Mitchell and Cook will then appear together at Palace Nova Eastend in South Australia on October 9th, followed by New Farm Cinemas on October 10th.
The pair will head to Sydney’s Ritz Cinemas on October 11th for a Q&A hosted by Richard Kingsmill, before continuing to Melbourne for events at Cinema Nova on October 13th and Sun Theatre in Yarraville on October 14th.
Cook will appear solo at Kino Cinemas in Melbourne on October 15th, while Thornton will join him for a Newcastle screening at Tower Cinemas on October 17th.
Thornton and Cook will then take part in a special 30th anniversary Q&A event at Melbourne’s Corner Hotel on October 18th, hosted by Jane Gazzo and Dylan Lewis. The tour concludes with another Melbourne screening in Elsternwick on October 19th.
General national release sessions across Dendy Cinemas and independent cinemas around the country will be announced soon.
Tickets for the Q&A screenings are on sale now.
The announcement comes just days after the band was forced to postpone a run of shows across North Queensland following an undisclosed medical emergency with one of its members. There has been no further update from camp Jebediah.
