Jen Cloher has been hitting the publicity trail a lot lately in order to help promote her new self-titled record, which is out Friday, but one recent interview saw Cloher letting slip that second record from her bandmate, partner, and frequent musical collaborator, Courtney Barnett, is due for a 2018 release.

Speaking to Spanish website Binaural, Cloher spoke of her new album, but also revealed that Courtney Barnett’s second album is “definitely” coming in 2018. However, further details are yet to be revealed, but we’re certain that we’ll be getting a lot more info pretty soon.

Since 2015’s highly-acclaimed Sometimes I Sit And Think, Sometimes I Just Sit, Courtney Barnett has been pretty busy touring the world, so it’s understandable then that she hasn’t released too much new music since the album. However, we did receive the fun ‘How To Boil An Egg’ back in May, and we’ve seen proof of a collaboration with Kurt Vile which is yet to see the light of day, but is on its way.

Regardless, we’re still pretty stoked to hear new music from Courtney Barnett, even if her new record is just her and a piano, like she had previously mentioned. In the meantime though, be sure to pick up Jen Cloher’s new self-titled record when it drops on Friday, because in addition to Cloher’s amazing songwriting, you’ll also be hearing some of Courtney’s musical contributions on the album as well; win-win.
