System of a Down drummer John Dolmayan has accused Democrats of “demonizing” Donald Trump and “blaming him for everything under the sun.”
These past few weeks has seen Dolmayan espouse confusing and polarising political views. The musician has been frequently taking to Instagram to praise Donald Trump and criticise liberal politics.
In a recent post, Dolmayan condemned the Democrats for their lambasting of Trump: “Working together to fix problems seems to be the last thing on the left’s mind,” he wrote.
“Instead it’s about demonizing Trump and blaming him for everything under the sun and telling you you’re a bad person for voting for him etc, the usual liberal tactic straight from the Marxist manifesto.
“Blocking every effort the president attempts to make will not help any of us although the obvious ploy was also used by Republicans in the past and can be effective in the war we all, unfortunately, must pay for over control of this land.
“We are destroying ourselves from the inside, all fueled by our enemies abroad and helped by the useful idiots that live among us but hate the country that made them.”
Amid the growing calls to defund the police, Dolmayan expressed “I will fight for those who protect us like the police.”

He continued, “I will fight for all of our rights under the constitution, and I will fight for our future. If that costs me personally so be it.”
Earlier this month, Dolmayan shared a post on Instagram condemning those advocating to defund and dismantle the police. The post condemned “Any celebrity or politician who is behind the defund the police movement.”
It is unsurprising that System of a Down have not recorded a new record since 2005. Whilst vocalist Serj Tankian expressed that the band “haven’t been able to see eye-to-eye creatively,” it’s apparent that their issues may lie with the differences in drummer John Dolmayan and Tankian’s political opinions.
Neither band member has been silent with their opinions on the current leader of the U.S., President Donald Trump. While Tankian has called for Trump, and his regime, to resign, Dolmayan has heralded Trump as “the greatest friend to minorities.”
