The Queens of the Stone Age head honcho is gearing up for a new pair of music releases from his Desert Sessions series.

The music from the sessions Volume. 11 and Volume. 12, recorded at Homme’s Joshua Tree ranch, will be the first Desert Sessions releases in 16 years. According to the New York Times, these new volumes will be out in October.

Teaming up with the likes of Stella Mozgawa (Warpaint), Jake Shears (Scissor Sisters), Les Claypool and Billy Gibbons (ZZ Top), indicating the magic Homme generated in the studio was definitely an interesting brand.

Previous sessions have included input from everyone, from the likes of PJ Harvey, Mark Lanegan, Dean Ween and Brant Bjork.
