We’re not ones to judge a book by its cover, but we’ll be honest with, we never took Justin Bieber for prog fan. The Biebs is currently on a road trip celebrating the anniversary of his engagement with wife Hailey Bieber. A road trip that, according to Instagram, has been soundtracked by Tool.

Bieber shared an Instagram story, featuring the lyrics taken from Tool’s 10,000 Days track ‘The Pot’: “Who are you to wave your finger?/ You must have been outta your head/ Eye hole deep in muddy waters/ You practically raised the dead.”

He then followed up the story with another post, beckoning fans who might not be familiar with the track to look it up. We sincerely hope that Justin Bieber ventures into prog-metal territory with his next record.

In related news, Bieber recently joined Billie Eilish on a remix of her smash-hit ‘Bad Guy’. Eilish is a longstanding Belieber, and the pair finally met earlier this year at Coachella, when Bieber greeted her as she watched Ariana Grande’s headling set. You can check out the remix below. Skrrt.

Back in May, Tool finally announced the release date of their first new record in 13 years. The band’s as-yet-untitled fifth studio album is set for release on August 30th.

The band announced the album release date during a rare intermission at their Alabama Legacy Arena concert, where they left the stage with the date August 30th displayed upon screens.

Tool’s last record was 2006’s 10,000 Days. Last year, Tool frontman Maynard James Keenan’s supergroup A Perfect Circle released Eat the Elephant, their first LP in 14 years.
