A Coachella punter is selling what they believe to be “holy grass” from Kanye West’s Coachella Sunday Service, amid rumours Kanye is starting his own church.
Those who were unable to make the trek out to Coachella last week for Kanye’s own version of his regular Sunday service can now get amongst it, buying their own little piece of the experience. One entrepreneur who claims to have been at the festival is selling two small bags of ‘holy grass’, picked from the ground of the 41-year-old rapper’s religious service on eBay.
A prospective buyer might think this is all well and good, but, it comes at quite the cost. One of these bags will set you back a hefty $170 AUD, though the current highest bid is $65 AUD.
“GRASS FRESH CUT BLESSED BY THE SOUND OF KANYE’S VOICE AND KID CUDI’S HUMMING,” the item’s description reads, but there isn’t any way to know whether or not this seller is legit. Unless, of course, you count the below photo as evidence.

The hefty pricing level of the ‘Holy Grass’ matches that of the Yeezy-inspired merch available at the event, where a pair of Kanye socks was sold for over $70 AUD.
Among the faces in the crowd were wife Kim Kardashian West and her sisters Khloé Kardashian, Kourtney Kardashian, Kendall Jenner, Kylie Jenner and her boyfriend Travis Scott. West’s good mates Chance the Rapper, Kid Cudi, 2 Chainz, and Donald Glover [A.K.A. Childish Gambino], were also spotted.
West’s service drew huge crowds, and has supposedly inspired him to continue on his spiritual path development.
“He is extremely passionate about his faith and wants to share it more regularly with people,” a source close to West recently told PEOPLE. “He spends a lot of time studying and praying, and wants to share his journey.”
“Kanye has talked about starting his own church, and what exactly that would be,” the source continues. “It wouldn’t be the traditional, 3-hymns-and-a-sermon thing. Instead, it would be a way to point people to Jesus through the arts and through a community of people who love and care for each other. He also wants his kids to be raised in faith, and the best way for him to do that is to live out his faith,” the source said.
Kanye actually begun delivering this service at the start of 2019, though previously it’s only been open to A-listers, drawing in pals like Katy Perry. Kim Kardashian West has praised her husband’s service. “It’s honestly more like a healing experience for my husband,” she previously told Elle. “It’s just music; there’s no sermon. It’s definitely something he believes in — Jesus — and there’s a Christian vibe. But there’s no preaching. It’s just a very spiritual Christian experience.”
