If you find that your mornings don’t feature enough nu-metal, then get ready to drink deep from the cup of Korn, with the rockers recently releasing their own range of coffee.
Let’s face it, the idea of bands bringing out their own range of products isn’t new. Why, we’ve seen countless bands launch their own alcohol range, and we’ve heard just how much artists can make off of merch. Needless to say, releasing items for your fans to purchase can be a pretty lucrative business.
Announced via Facebook, Korn have now introduced their own brand of coffee to give fans a pretty metal way to wake up.
“I think fans are gonna enjoy Korn Koffee because it has a kick,” explains Korn guitarist Munky.
“This is something that we curated and we’ve been working on for a while and I just think it’s something that everybody can drink and enjoy.”
“The Korn Koffee idea pretty much came up because we drink so much coffee on the road when we’re touring it’s good to have something to really kick you in the pants in the morning.”
Working closely with J. Gursey Coffee, the band have created a blend of Ethiopian, Guatemalan, and Peruvian beans that is fair-trade certified, so you can feel good about starting your day with a cup of the ol’ bean soup.
As Alt Press notes, each bag of Korn Koffee comes with a message from the band explaining this new venture. “After almost 25 years of touring, making records and playing in front of all of our amazing fans (you), one thing has remained a constant in our daily routine: coffee,” they explain.
“The ritual, the brew, the aroma and most importantly, that very first cup every morning that sets the tone, is something we look forward to every day.”
“Because of our passion, we’ve gotten together with a roaster and handcrafted our very own blend of KOFFEE. We hope you enjoy, share, and join us in savoring many cups of KOFFEE for years to come.”
Of course, Korn aren’t the first band to get in the business of brewing beans, with members of Aerosmith, Megadeth, and Anthrax all releasing their own blends in the past.
