We’ve looked at acts that have employed some pretty amazing marketing strategies in the past, but Lime Cordiale have to take the cake when it comes to Aussie bands choosing creative ways to promote their newest record.

Lime Cordiale, who are currently getting to set to release their long-awaited debut record, Permanent Vacation, on Friday, have been experimenting with some different ways to help market their new record, including painting a mural in Sydney, and creating a short film that is, er, strange, to say the least.

Recently, Lime Cordiale’s Louis Leimbach hit up the rear of Sydney’s Lord Gladstone to paint a technicolour mural in support of their new record. Honestly, it’s the sort of thing that deserves to be hung in a museum, but we’ll happily settle for it being kept as street art for quite some time.

Check out a video documenting the creation of Lime Cordiale’s mural below, courtesy of our friends at The Brag.

However, the craziest thing that Lime Cordiale have done recently would have to be their ‘Solid Gold’ video. A short film that lasts just over three minutes, ‘Solid Gold’ sees Oli and Louis being terrorised by a stranger with a golden, uh, secret, only to find out that it’s just Lime Cordiale’s brand new record that he’s harbouring.

It’s the sort of video that you’d usually only find while browsing the very depths of YouTube at 3am in the morning, but the Leimbach brothers have found a way to harness this kooky sort of craziness into a way to help promote their debut record. Coming from a band with a sense of humour this twisted, you know that Lime Cordiale are the sort of musicians who are on their musical journey just to have a good time.

Lime Cordiale’s Permanent Vacation is set to be released on Friday, October 13th. In the meantime, check out the video for the group’s ‘Solid Gold’ video which has to be seen to be believed.
