History has been made. The stars have aligned. If you’ve been waiting for the return of Christ, it just happened. Limp Bizkit and Marilyn Manson have collaborated onstage with a cover of Nirvana classic. A symphony of wallet chains chime ceremoniously in the wind. This is peace.

Last week, Limp Bizkit announced a $3 dollar show at the Troubadour in Los Angeles, aptly named “Three Dollar Show Y’all.” The show promised a reunion of the “original lineup” but it delivered so much more. The $3 gig took place on Tuesday night (March 5th). The “original lineup”, which we assumed would include former guitarist Rob Waters, actually saw bassist Sam Rivers make a triumphant return. Waters took a hiatus from the band back in 2015, after he was diagnosed with a degenerative disease.

To say that the event was a star-studded affair would be the understatement of the century. I personally would compare it to The Last Supper. I can’t recall a time where legends of this calibre congregated in one room.

During the show, Fred Durst in all his righteous glory made his way up to the balcony. On this balcony —or shrine, if you will— was Marilyn Manson and Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan. “I’m just hanging out up here with Billy Corgan and Marilyn Manson — real songwriters!” Durst preached.

Manson and Durst then joined forces on a rendition of Limp Bizkit’s ‘My Way’, and a cover of the Nirvana classic ‘Heart-Shaped Box.’ Truly spectacular scenes.

This wasn’t the only collaboration to take place. During the show, Bizkit brought out rapper Machine Gun Kelly to perform ‘My Generation.’ MGK is set to play Tommy Lee in the upcoming Mötley Crüe’s biopic The Dirt.

It doesn’t stop there, Bizkit treated fans to a medley that would make the Glee cast cower in shame. The band performed Journey’s ‘Don’t Stop Believin’, Green Day’s ‘Brain Stew’, Pantera’s ‘Mouth for War’ and Metallica’s ‘For Whom the Bell Tolls.’ They closed the medley with their iconic cover of George Michael’s ‘Faith’.
