Limp Bizkit have announced plans to hit the studio to record a new album – their first in seven years.

Back in 2011, Limp Bzikit released Gold Cobra, their first full-length album since 2003’s Results May Vary, and first with guitarist Wes Borland since 2000. Almost immediately after, the band revealed plans to work on another new record, but as of 2018, fans are still waiting.

Tentatively (and regrettably) titled Stampede Of The Disco ElephantsFred Durst explained last year that he had actually leaked the album back in early 2016, though this has never been verified.

Now, it seems that Limp Bizkit are planning to work on this upcoming record once again, with Wes Borland confirming that the group are hitting the studio in a matter of days.

Taking to Instagram yesterday, Borland shared a video of some new music, explaining the band’s upcoming recording plans.

“Getting warmed up to actually make a brand new Limp Bizkit album,” he wrote. “We would have started last Saturday but were displaced by the fires and lost some gear.”

“Getting back on our feet and in the studio within the week.”

The group’s recent delay is rather understandable though, with Fred Durst taking to social media earlier this week to reveal he had lost his home due to the horrific wildfires currently sweeping through California.

Likewise, Wes Borland also revealed how the fires effected him, explaining that he lost a “pedalboard, two guitars, two amps, a 2×12 cabinet, several other pedals and miscellaneous equipment”.

In more recent album news though, members of Bring Me The Horizon explained how their recent single, ‘Wonderful Life’, was originally intended to be a Limp Bizkit song.

“Last year, me and Jordan [Fish] went and worked with Fred Durst on a Limp Bizkit album,” explained Bring Me The Horizon vocalist Oli Sykes. “It just didn’t work out, to be honest. He just didn’t show up most of the time.”

“Lovely guy, but I don’t think he was ready to make an album. I think he was pushed into it a bit, like, his managers and people said ‘These are the guys you want to work with.’ So we gave him all these ideas and I mean it was just bad from day one, to be honest.”

“One good thing came out of it: me and Jordan wrote this riff and I one day decided the tempo and key matched almost perfectly with the song,” he explained. “So we de-Bizkit‘d it a bit, and it ended up sounding pretty sick.”

While there’s no word if Limp Bizkit’s long-awaited new record will include a Bring Me The Horizon song, it seems we’ll just have to wait and see what the album sounds like.
