Eddie Vedder has performed a number of heartfelt covers on his European tour, which kicked off last week, dedicating both ‘Trouble’ by Cat Stevens and ‘The Needle and the Damage Done’ by Neil Young to Chris Cornell at one particularly emotional show.
Now he has delivered a sparse cover of Fugazi’s ‘I’m So Tired’. The song is a desperate defeated one, with lyrics such as “I’m so tired sheep are counting me/No more struggle, no more energy/ No more patient and you can write that down/ It’s all too crazy and I’m not sticking round.”
Vedder performs it solo on an organ, and it’s quite beautiful. Check it out, below.

Eddie Vedder has kicked off his European solo tour with Glen Hansard, and, as we previously reported, the show’s have already proven themselves to be heartfelt and emotional in the wake of Chris Cornell’s passing. On Saturday night, the Pearl Jam frontman dabbled in dark themes, changing the lyrics of his own songs in between covers of Cat Stevens “Trouble” and Neil Young’s “The Needle and the Damage Done.”
Vedder also debuted a cover of Fugazi’s “I’m So Tired”, a song that both confronts and, in some ways, fetishizes suicide. Played solo on an organ, Vedder’s cover is spare, gorgeous, and deeply felt.
