The long-awaited Aussie debut from Lizzo might soon be over, with the acclaimed musician revealing her plans to visit the country in January.
For a number of years now, Melissa Viviane Jefferson (better known to fans as Lizzo) has been setting the world of music ablaze with her infectious style, stunning anthems, and unapologetic delivery.
Kicking things off back in about 2012 as a member of The Chalice, Lizzo released her debut record in 2013, with Lizzobangers resulting in a handful of singles and almost unanimous widespread acclaim.
Since then, the praise has kept on coming, with Lizzo’s third album, April’s Cuz I Love You, resulting in positive reviews across the board, and even scored a feature album spot from Double J.
However, if you’ve been anxiously hanging out for Lizzo to finally appear on Aussie shores, it seems your wait is almost over, with the stunning musician letting her plans slip on social media.

Taking to social media this morning, Twitter user @WHITNEYH0UST0N revealed they had questioned Lizzo about any potential Australian tour plans during an Instagram Live session, only to receive some extremely positive news.
“I’ll be in Australia in January, bitch,” Lizzo can be heard saying in some video from the session, “See you soon!”
Of course, while this news was already a major boon for fans, attention soon turned towards Lizzo’s potential inclusion on the FOMO festival lineup, which announced its first act this week.
Revealing that BROCKHAMPTON were the first artist confirmed for the festival, FOMO is set to kick off in Brisbane on January 4th, before visiting Adelaide, Sydney, and Melbourne over the coming days.
While we’re still a little way away from learning the full FOMO lineup, Lizzo’s revelation of a January visit is making her a very strong contender for headliner status.
At this stage though, we’ll have to sit and wait for confirmation about the musician’s eventual visit to the country, but it sounds like she’ll be out here gettin’ loose before we know it.
