Marilyn Manson has offered his fans an album update, revealing he’s getting down to the final stages of recording his new release.
It feels like it was just yesterday that Marilyn Manson was gearing up to release his tenth album, Heaven Upside Down.
Originally titled Say10, the album was eventually released in October of 2017 after numerous delays, and quickly reached the top ten in charts around the world.
However, since the album’s release, Marilyn Manson has been quite a busy bee. In between touring with Rob Zombie, performing at Coachella (despite apparently being banned), and selling dildos with his face on them, the shock rocker has apparently found time to record a new album.
Taking to Twitter recently, Manson shared an image of himself in a Rick And Morty-themed hat, captioned with the phrase, “On my way to Shooter Jennings to finish my new album.”
While Marilyn Manson hasn’t been too forthcoming with info about his new record, it should come as no surprise that he’s been working with Shooter Jennings, the son of famed country musician Waylon Jennings.
Having teamed up with Jennings at a Kris Kristofferson concert recently, Manson first appeared with the country musician back in 2016 when they covered David Bowie’s ‘Cat People’.

Speaking to Rolling Stone at the time, Jennings explained how he managed to record the creepy cover with Marilyn Manson.
“I invited him out to a party at this bar, and I said, ‘Hey, you know ‘Cat People’? You want to do that song on this record, ’cause you’d sound awesome doing it’,” Jennings recalled. “And he was like, ‘I sing that song every night before I go onstage. That’s my song I warm up to.’”
“So one night I went over to his house at three in the morning and brought all my recording gear,” he continued. “His house is cavernous and looks like a bordello and it was his voice echoing through the house. It was pretty intense.”
While there’s no word yet as to when we might receive Marilyn Manson’s 11th full-length studio release, it’s looking as though the tail-end of 2019 could be a possibility. Otherwise, a new album in 2020 might be a splendid way to kick off the decade.
