Yesterday, ‘Savage’ rapper Megan Thee Stallion released a statement, revealing that she was shot multiple times on Sunday, July 12th.

It was initially reported that Megan Thee Stallion’s injuries were sustained from the rapper cutting her foot on glass after attending a pool party with Lanez and Kylie Jenner early in the morning on Sunday, July 12. Claims that prompted the musician to take to Instagram to reveal that her injuries were gunshot wounds.

“On Sunday morning, I suffered gunshot wounds, as a result of a crime that was committed against me and done with the intention to physically harm me,” she revealed in an Instagram post.

It has now been alleged that the musician — real name Megan Pete — was shot by Canadian rapper Tory Lanez.

A report published on Page Six claims that Lanez shot Megan following an argument inside his car as she was trying to leave the vehicle. “Tory fired the shots from within the vehicle while Megan was outside trying to leave,” the source claims. “There is video and the police are investigating. This is a case of a man physically harming and abusing a woman.”

On Wednesday, July 15th TMZ released footage of Pete limping away from a car, blood trailing behind her, whilst Lanez laid face down on the road after being apprehended by the police.

TMZ have reported that witnesses refuse to cooperate with the Los Angeles Police Department regarding the incident between the two musicians. It has been acknowledged that there may be phone footage in police custody pertaining to the incident, but that “not be released until the case goes to court in order to protect the integrity of the case,” a spokesperson for the LAPD revealed.

“The detectives are seeking information regarding the shooting involving Daystar Peterson, and the investigation is still ongoing. I’m not [at] privilege to what the detectives have right now.”

Lanez was arrested on a felony gun charge after being booked for having a concealed firearm in a vehicle. Records suggest that Lanez posted $35,000 bail and was released from jail on Sunday morning. His forthcoming court date is listed as Tuesday, October 13th, 2020.

In a since-deleted tweet, Megan Thee Stallion’s music producer, Lil Ju, tweeted “@torylanez count your f—king days.” In addition, he responded to a tweet suggesting that Lanez was protecting Megan, writing “I hope ya’ll don’t believe he was defending her! This a bullshit story.”
