If you’re looking for some fine gigs this summer, Melbourne Zoo appears to be the place to go, with the lineup for their annual Zoo Twilights series dropping today.
Just a couple of days ago, we learnt that Sydney’s Twilight At Taronga had snared some pretty special acts for next year. With the likes of The Whitlams, Do-Ré-Mi, and The Waifs on the bill, folks down in Victoria were undoubtedly starting to wonder what was in store for them.
Now, the lineup for Melbourne Zoo Twilights 2019 has dropped, and it’s a big one.
While we got a sneak peek into next year’s lineup recently when Cat Power announced an Aussie tour, the rest of the lineup has been kept under wraps until now, with plenty of local and international favourites coming along for the ride.
Kicking things off on January 25th is none other than Client Liaison, who will be bringing along Kira Puru in the support slot. This stunning set will be followed by the amazing double-header of Briggs and Archie Roach, who will be delivering what is destined to be one of the finest concerts of the series.
Plenty of other local legends are included, with Sampa The Great & REMI, Daryl Braithwaite & Ross Wilson, Vera Blue, and The Cat Empire all set to perform. Plus, we’ll be seeing plenty of amazing international acts as well, with big names such as Aloe Blacc, Rufus Wainwright, Hanson, The Internet, and Marlon Williams slated to appear.
It’s all set to wrap up on Saturday, March 9th, when a yet-to-be announced headliner will take the stage for what we can only assume will be another brilliant show in this breathtaking series of gigs.
Tickets to all these shows go on sale at 8am on Tuesday, October 30th through the Zoo Twilights website. Don’t forget, proceeds from the Zoo Twilights go towards saving the Eastern Barred Bandicoot from extinction, so check out some awesome music and support a great cause!
