The summer is well and truly heating up, with Melbourne Zoo releasing the lineup for their annual Zoo Twilights concert series this morning.

Hey, do you like music? What about animals? Good vibes in the summer sun? Well, by the sounds of it, the Melbourne Zoo Twilights series is going to rank highly on your list of new year resolutions.

Back for yet another year, the annual Zoo Twilights series is a perfect way to add music to your summer evenings, with some of the best local and international acts playing headline sets at the Melbourne Zoo.

With all proceeds going towards the preservation of the Mountain Pygmy-possum, you can rest assured knowing that your music-going habits will be going towards a good cause, with each ticket also getting you into the zoo for an evening stroll as well.

So what’s on offer this year? Well, it’s already shaping up to be one of the event’s biggest yet, with the likes of Confidence Man, Icehouse, and Toots And The Maytals kicking things off in January.

It doesn’t end there though, with the previously-announced Randy Newman, Missy Higgins, The Cat Empire, 10cc, Methyl Ethel, Julia Jacklin, Meg Mac, Stereolab, and Mavis Staples rounding out the headline spots.

But it just keeps getting better, with a litany of artists opening proceedings too, including Wax’o Paradiso, Systa BB, William Crighton, Emily Wurramara, Russell Morris, Hatchie, Weyes Blood, Fergus James, Mildlife, and Emma Donovan And The Putbacks helping warm up the crowds this summer.

Tickets to this year’s events go on sale from 8am AEDT on Tuesday, October 22nd, so be sure to get in early to secure your spot at one (or hey, maybe all?) of the stunning concerts the Melbourne Zoo Twilights seres has on offer next year.
