Metallica have shared footage of one concert fans won’t soon forget, performing one of their biggest tracks in the middle of a rain storm.
How often have you looked at a concert ticket only to see the phrase “we play rain, hail, or shine” printed upon it? Often, this is something of a needless warning, but sometimes fans end up getting a bit of inclement weather with their advertised performance.
Such was the case in Manchester recently, where metal icons Metallica proved their worth as performers, powering through a rain storm to deliver a mesmerising rendition of their classic track ‘Master Of Puppets’.
Just a few weeks ago, the mighty Metallica found themselves in Manchester, England as part of their WorldWired Tour. While we’ve already seen footage of the band covering The Stone Roses’ ‘I Wanna Be Adored’ while in town, it was the events that happened just a few songs later that had fans lunging for their umbrellas.

Yes, as the lights went down in Manchester on June 18th, so came the rain, pouring onto the audience, stage, and bandmembers as Metallica kicked off ‘Master Of Puppets’.
While James Hetfield’s hair ended up slicked back, Lars Ulrich ended up splashing himself with every single snare hit, and a few instruments might have ended up being waterlogged, the band powered through, delivering one of the wildest renditions of the track any audience has likely ever seen.
In related news, Metallica are set to return to Australian shores for the first time in six years later this year. Here’s hoping the weather forecast is a bit more in their favour when they delight their Aussie fans with some long-awaited shows.
