Nick Cave has been notoriously revealing bits and pieces of his future direction through his very own website The Red Hand Files, and now we’ve gotten some fresh news from the man himself.

The way it works is, often Nick will get submitted a question from the curious public, and then he’ll bestow upon us an answer in his own mysterious time. We’ve gotten quite a few glimmers into the future, and into the man himself, thanks to the site.

Now, a young lad named Joe from Bexhill-On-Sea in the United Kingdom has simply submitted the question we’ve all been asking, “when can we expect a new album?”

Apparently it’s that easy to get artists to admit that they’ve been sitting on a major stash of new tunes ready to bestow upon us.

Posting his letter of response on The Red Hand Files, Nick Cave spontaneously revealed that his new album is coming out next week, and it’s going to be a double album.

The album is going to be called Ghosteen, with Side A containing 8 songs and Side B containing 3 incredibly long tracks split up with a spoken word piece. Bring on the tunes we say.

You can check out the full written response below, or on the website itself.

Dear Joe,

You can expect a new album next week.

It is called Ghosteen.

It is a double album.

Part 1 comprises of eight songs.

The Spinning Song
Bright Horses
Waiting For You
Night Raid
Sun Forest
Galleon Ship
Ghosteen Speaks
Leviathan

Part 2 consists of two long songs, linked by a spoken word piece.

Ghosteen
Fireflies

The songs on the first album are the children.

The songs on the second album are their parents.

Ghosteen is a migrating spirit.

Love, Nick
