The Murlocs Announce New Single, Australian Tour 2013

Local favourites The Murlocs return with new single ‘Space Cadet’, a gem rescued from a Mikey Young (Eddy Current) mixing session largely lost to a laptop thief earlier this year, sending the boys back to the drawing board to re-record their upcoming album. Recorded with Stu McKenzie (of King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard), ‘Space Cade’t packs some very clever RnB guitar muscle and rolls along like a Geelong bound V-line. Ambrose Kenny-Smith’s distinct vocal stamp finely counter-balances this track, floating on top with reckless spontaneity (watch/listen to ‘Space Cadet’ here). The Murlocs will launch their new single with a series of launch show across NSW and VIC this November.

Mikal Cronin Australian Tour 2013

Bay Area garage-pop master and feel good rocker, Mikal Cronin is headed to Australia for the first time this November! Mikal Cronin has had an epic year. Turning heads at SXSW in March, Cronin went on to released his sophomore album MCII in May and has since, been extensively touring it. Luckily enough for us, he will round out 2013 with a handful of Australian shows! Prior to launching his solo career in 2011 with the release of his self-titled debut album, Cronin was best known as Ty Segall’s bassist. However, his fresh sunny, fuzzy take on punk rock is being eaten up so fast and doesn’t look to be slowing.
