The fine folks at Melbourne’s NGV have gathered a enviable lineup of renowned Australian musicians, bands, singers, and DJs to perform as part of a new weekly seres taking place each Friday from 5th July to perform for punters headed to the Monet’s Garden exhibition, featuring more than 60 works from the great impressionist.

‘The Friday night series will completely transform the Gallery through these major evening events and will run over the final ten weeks of Monet’s Garden,” said Tony Ellwood, Director of the NGV, who has co-ordinated the new series with Consume, who’s previous work includes bookings for Brisbane’s Gallery of Modern Art.

The likes of Vance Joy, Courtney Barnett, The Go-Betweens’ Robert Forster, Seekae, Machine Translations, Good Heavens, Harmony, Brighter Later, Halfway, and Jae Laffer of The Panics will be performing at the Friday Nights at Monet’s Garden series, which will also provide nibbles and drinks throughout the evening ranging from bar to bistro cuisine.

Tickets are $28 for Adults, $23 for existing NGV members, and kids get entry for $10. All passes are available from the venue with each evening session opening its doors from 5.30pm and wrapping up at a very reasonable 9.30pm.

“As well as music acts in the Great Hall, visitors can catch a ‘pop-up’ talk with special guests including host of Gardening Australia, Costa Georgiadis, celebrated chef, Matt Wilkinson and Australian contemporary artist, Fiona Hall,” said Mr Ellwood. “Their insights will enlighten, entertain and no doubt be full of interesting surprises.”

Exclusive to Melbourne, Monet’s Garden is the largest collection of Monet works ever to come to the country. The exhibition is organised by the Musée Marmottan Monet, Paris in association with the National Gallery of Victoria and Art Exhibitions Australia.
