One of the biggest names in the American music festival season has announced its batch of artists for 2014.

The Lollapalooza 2014 lineup has been unveiled with a huge mix of local and international acts taking over Chicago’s Grant Park for three days this August.

Festival headliners Eminem, Arctic Monkeys, Kings Of Leon, and Skrillex were all leaked last week by The Chicago Tribune, the full festival bill reveals a few more top-tier acts, including the reunited and heavily Splendour-rumoured hip hop duo Outkast, Scottish dance major Calvin Harris, and New Zealand singer Lorde.

Among the long list of acts headed to Lollapalooza 2014 is a contingent of Aussie artists, continuing the trend of our country’s finest popping up on international events like Bonnaroo, Pukkelpop, and Coachella – just to name a few.

Set to grace the Chicago stage on the first day of the festival, Friday 1st August, is Melbourne’s own Courtney Barnett, continuing the treasured, Australian-endorsed singer-songwriter’s run of international festival appearances (including Primavera SoundField DayFireflyNXNE but sadly not Sasquatch). Also on the opening Lollapalooza 2014 date is Sydney psych-dance rock duo Jagwar Ma and LA-via-Sydney rapper Iggy Azalea. …continuing the trend of our country’s finest popping up on international events.

Day two features some of Australia’s biggest international exports, including electro-indie favourites Cut Copy – fresh from blowing Golden Plains “to pieces”, the US-storming John Butler Trio, The Temper Trap (perhaps with new material in tow…), Vance Joy – the Melbourne troubadour who’s already making big waves overseas, and Sydney-born, LA-based producer Anna Lunoe.

Rounding out the Australian representatives on the Lollapalooza 2014 lineup on day three is world-conquering Sydney producer Flume (who’s been palling about with festival headliner Skrillex for a new EP), and Sydney songwriter Betty Who, who’s on the verge of releasing her debut album Slow Dancing this April.

If you’re thinking about taking a patriotic trip to Lollapalooza 2014 to fly the flag for the Aussies, here’s the bad news: the three-day passes have already sold out in record time, disappearing from the box office within the first hour of going on sale.

There’s still a chance to attend however, with single-day tickets going on sale at 11 am ET today (2pm AEST) while VIP and platinum packages are still available. Plus, be sure to hit the Tone Deaf Lollapalooza festival guide for insider tips to getting there (and back again… maybe).

Otherwise, there’s a chance some of the acts could make their way Down Under next year for Big Day Out 2015, owing to the fact that C3 Presents organises the bill for both the Chicago festival and co-promotes the iconic Aussie event with Soundewave boss AJ Maddah. It’s never too early for a festival rumour.

Scope the enormous lineup below, in eye-grabbing poster format and then broken day-by-day (with Aussie acts bolded for your patriotic pleasure).
