Australian singer/songwriter Sia Furler has announced plans to stop touring and instead focus on writing songs for other performers after years of promo for her own material takes a toll on the 36-year-old.

Although originally based in the city of churches, Adelaide, Sia has spent most of her career abroad including in London where she was based for a number of years as well as more recently in New York City.
We Are Born, her fifth studio album and latest, reached #2 on the ARIA Charts here in Australia, as well as peaking at #37 in the United States and #74 in the UK. Sia was rewarded for her efforts by picking up the ARIA Awards in 2010 for Best Pop Release and Best Independent Release.
Her career a little over a year ago was temporarily put on hold after it was reported she was suffering extreme lethargy and frequent panic attacks. Her international tour in support of We Are Born was cancelled and Sia was later diagnosed with Graves’ disease – an autoimmune disorder.
During her rest to recover from the disease, Sia spent her time writing including for internationally acclaimed dance producer David Guetta for his 2011 single Titanium. She also submitted a track for consideration for Madonna’s new album MDNA, but her track was not chosen for the final release.
Despite her claims of taking a backwards step from the limelight she is still expected to release a new album sometime this year.
