The Splendour In The Grass lineup 2012 continues to slowly leak out, following revelations earlier this week that Jack White will be touring solo down under and a few weeks ago when Splendour’s sister company Secret Sounds confirmed Zulu Winter would be making an appearance.

Now the latest to let it slip are Los Angeles-based indie duo Electric Guest, who told Acid Stag that they are “going to be there [Australia] in July”. When pushed if their tour was for Splendour In The Grass the replied, “Yeah, it is. How did you know? I’ve never been to Australia before so I’m super excited. It’s going to be awesome.”

There’s been rampant speculation surrounding the lineup this year, and while a number of names have been floated organisers have been able to keep a lid on much of the lineup, despite the high profile leak of Jack White.

Otherwise there are a number of credible rumours making the rounds that should give us some idea of what to expect.

The Shins for instance let slip they’re due to play Splendour, although at this stage they’re only ‘pencilled in’. A few other names such as Lana Del Rey, Sleigh Bells, and The Ting Tings have also been suggested although none of the acts have responded to the rumours.

The other band on everybody’s lips is Bloc Party, who FasterLouder have predicted. The group have played the festival three times already, and would be making an appearance debuting new material from their forthcoming fourth studio album which is due sometime this year.

The official Splendour In The Grass 2012 lineup announcement is scheduled for tomorrow.

UPDATE: Melbourne based indie sensation Chet Faker has also confirmed exclusively to Tone Deaf that he will be part of Splendour In The Grass this year. Speaking earlier today in an interview, Chet Faker said “I’ve never been to a Splendour before so I’m really looking forward to being a part of it and seeing some great bands in Byron.”
