The Jack White Australian tour 2012 has been confirmed inadvertently by Frontier Touring today who posted a cut out of a photo as part of a teaser campaign for a forthcoming tour announcement.
But eagle-eyed fans on Facebook and FasterLouder were quick to point out that the cut out was taken from a photo of Jack White and Wanda Jackson, all but confirming the hugely rumoured tour – that is unless the guys at Frontier are being total dicks.
But assuming they’re not, what does this mean for the rumour that the former White Stripes frontman will be playing Splendour In The Grass 2012? It makes it pretty likely we’d say.
The official Splendour In The Grass 2012 lineup announcement is scheduled for this Thursday, a day before Frontier are expected to officially announce the Jack White Australian tour 2012.
There’s been rampant speculation surrounding the lineup this year, and while a number of names have been floated organisers have been able to keep a firm lid on the lineup, excepting this leak.
Otherwise there are a number of credible rumours making the rounds that should give us some idea of what to expect.
The Shins for instance let slip they’re due to play Splendour, although at this stage they’re only ‘pencilled in’. A few other names such as Lana Del Rey, Sleigh Bells, and The Ting Tings have also been suggested although none of the acts have responded to the rumours.
The other band on everybody’s lips is Bloc Party, who FasterLouder have predicted. The group have played the festival three times already, and would be making an appearance debuting new material from their forthcoming fourth studio album which is due sometime this year.
