The full line-up for Harvest Festival 2012 has yet to be revealed (but probably due any day now), but there’s already been very positive signs of acts like Sigur Ros and Beck to play. News this morning of a new album from Grizzly Bear brings some very convincing evidence that they’ll also be on the bill.

This morning, Pitchfork revealed details of the Brooklyn indie darlings’ fourth studio album. The as-yet-untitled album is on September 18 through Warp records, announced alongside a full run-down of the tracklist and a new single called “Sleeping Ute”‘; are a series of tour dates tracking all around the world.

Starting in August, the dates run the gamut from America, Europe – with dates stopping suspiciously on the 5th of November in Holland before hopping over to New Zealand, for the 20th and 21st of November in Wellington and Auckland respectively.

The dates for Harvest 2012 fit very neatly between that gap  in November, with the leg starting in Melbourne on the 10th, Sydney on the 17th, then Brisbane follows the next day on the 18th.

Not only that, but co-singer/guitarist Ed Droste has already confirmed the group for an appearance down under in 2012 with this tweet earlier in the year

Seems like a sure fit to us… and if it is – you heard it here first.

The last time Grizzly Bear were on Australian shores was for a pair of Melbourne and Sydney shows two years ago, for their Veckatimest tour. This September’s release will be the band’s first new material since that album also.
