Following on from the recent announcement that Chugg Entertainment would be partnering up with IMC and Village Sounds, the promoters for the heroic homegrown music festival that is Homebake, making them co-promoters for the annual music festival – Homebake have just announced the second round of acs that will be joining the epic lineup of arts, music, and comedy.

Heralding the big announcement of Homebake Music, Film & Arts Festival 2012 carrying the ‘Global Edition’ theme were New Wave icons Blondie headlining a lineup of Australia and New Zealand’s finest in Hilltop Hoods, Kimbra, Birds of Tokyo, Something For Kate and many more. Today, an even more impressive list of names that will be adding their musical wares to the December event.

As organisers put it, “instead of competing against the plethora of festival announcements flooding this great country of ours… it is with much pleasure that we introduce to you to the bands who will join and complete the line up for this year’s HOMEBAKE celebration of music, comedy film and more.”

Leading the charge are Perth’s leading purveyors of psychelicious rock, TAME IMPALA. Fresh from announcing their December headline tour this morning, on top of their recent addition to the Meredith lineup, fresh from dropping their excellent follow-up to Innespeaker in Lonerism (which gets the Tone Deaf review here) and finishing conquering Parklife 2012.

Fellow Parklife alumnus, the spunky duo of PARACHUTE YOUTH are also joining the Homebake fun, along with the zinging guitars and upbeat tones of Brisbane’s LAST DINOSAURS, the funk-hop of HERMITUDE, unique everyman Aussie MC SETH SENTRY, mini-supergroup HEY GERONIMO, the colour-flinging antics of THE GRISWOLDS; as well as STICKY FINGERS, UNDERLIGHTS, and LIME CORDIALE

With the new batch of Australian acts now added, along with a riveting selection of cinematic treats at the HOMEBAKE Cinema Pavilion and monstrous giggles at the Comedy Stage; it’s looking to be one of the festival’s biggest and most comprehensive lineups in its 17 year history.

Tickets are on sale now for the Over 18′s Only Event, to be held at Saturday December 8th in the Domain (Royal Botanic Garden, Central Sydney) for a very special day of entertainment.
