Festival of the Voice returns in 2013 with yet another amazing line-up of musical talent a Sydney’s The Rocks on January 26 2013.

The free Festival will be held throughout the Rocks with the main stage under the Harbour Bridge, providing a unique experience for the celebration of Australia Day.

Eight Australian bands and solo artists, from Inner-West Sydney to sunny Darwin, will be serenading crowds with an eclectic mix of blues, soul, pop and rock ‘n’ roll.

Double headlining the stellar line-up is Indigenous folk singer-songwriter Gurrumul along with five time ARIA-nominee and surf fiend Blues artist Ash Grunwald. Both are internationally acclaimed artists who transcend genre boundaries to produce music that has stood the test of time.

Also joining the headliners will be Darwin duo Sietta, who will inject a bit of pop and blues on top of soulful vocals, while fellow festival favourite Dubmarineproves why they were dub master Roots Manuva’s favourite support group with their high-energy heavy dub beats.

Sydney-grown bands Tin Sparrow and Battleships will unleash their indie vibes (which they honed on their mini-album and in their live shows) and bring the crowds to life as they turn up the beat (and heat). Both bands have garnered international attention with Tin Sparrow featured in US primetime shows, while Battleships took the blogosphere by storm this year even before their album release.

Let’s not forget the sexy-cool The Preatures, whose modern take of Rock ‘n’ Roll and old-school Motown will provide the perfect accompaniment to the stunning surrounds and add a touch of edge. Here is Sydney’s own Velvet Underground. Take a look at our review of their latest release Shaking Hands.

Starting from 12pm to 8pm, the headlining acts are set to take to the harbour stage from 4pm onwards. The Rocks and its surrounding areas, including George St, First Fleet Park and Dawes Point Park under the Harbour Bridge will come to life with sights, sound and dance.
